I have a dream of making it out to Tokyo Game Show one of these days. With over 180,000 people who attend this, TGS definitely beats out San Diego Comic Con 140,000+ folks. TGS is a video game expo so it fits more with E3 and GenCon more than with SDCC or AX . TGS was held on Sept 18-19 this year. I've been to many cons in America but have never been to a con outside of America so I'm always curious to find out how the con experience is overseas especially with cosplay.
Happily, HezaChan had a chance to cosplay in Tokyo in Sept 2010 and posted a video about her experiences on her YouTube.
Judging from some of the photos I've seen on Flickr from TGS, I expect it to be a madhouse of cosplayers and especially photographers....waaaay more photographers in one place than I have ever seen.
I also became familiar with an America living in Japan - Lady Lara Jones's "Cosplay Research Project". One of her latest blog she recounts her experience at Layer Paradise which according to Danny Choo, is one of the bigger cosplay events in Japan. It is an interesting read and gives some perspectives of cons in Japan.
