Tell me about the outfit you are wearing – who are you cosplaying and how did you decide to pick this particular character ?
I’m cosplaying as fai from tsubasa. I really like the character’s personality, he’s super cute and silly. I also love a good excuse to wear a costume with white fur on it.
Tell me about the process of making your outfit – was it easier or tougher than you imagine it to be ?
This costume is really old, i learned how to sew making this with my mum. drafting the patterns and putting it all together with her, was the most fun i’ve had making a costume. we sewed up all three layers in about three weeks and it was hard work! the coats ate about 14 yards of fleece, the white one is fully lined and weighs a ton. after about 14 hours of work cutting out the staff i lost count!
How did you get started cosplaying and what got you interested?
i’m too old for halloween and when my friend suggested i cosplay, it seemed the perfect replacement
What are the con did you first attended and what’s your favorite con that you’ve attended so far and why?
The first con I went to was Anime Expo, which is always fun, but my favorite con is PMX. I like that convention because it give me a lot of time to hang out with friends.
What does cosplay mean to you?
Cosplay, for me is a way to meet some new and interesting people that love the same things I do. Its also a great way to challenge my sewing and crafting skills, which is always fun, and exciting.
If you had unlimited funds/technology/time, what is your dream cosplay?
I don’t really have any dream costumes because once I see something I would like to make I’ll spend as much time and energy as I need to get it done. It’s a good thing I’m never really interested in costumes that would be too expensive!
