Tell me about the outfit you are wearing – who are you cosplaying and how did you decide to pick this particular character ?
I’m cosplaying as Cloud Strife in his Shinra soldier outfit from a videogame called Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. I picked Cloud since he has always been my favorite character throughout all of the Final Fantasy games since I can relate to him and have some what of the same personalities.
Tell me about the process of making your outfit – was it easier or tougher than you imagine it to be ?
I brought a medium long blond wig from cosworx. I styled my wig on a form head that was pinned to it so that it would move around or slip off while I was styling it. I styled it by first using hair wax and then I used my Aqua Net hair spray. I hanged my plastic head that my wig was pinned to on an apparatus upside down and then I styled each spikes one at a time. As for the outfit my uncle made it for me. The shoulder armor and knee armor cast in a fiberglass and then panted.
Any interesting stories from people’s reaction to your outfit at the con ? ^^
At Anime Expo 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center I was cosplaying as Crisis Core Cloud Strife. I walked from my hotel to the convention center which was about 1.5 miles. I got many complements about my cosplay outfit and my spiky hair from people who were attending the convention and those who weren’t as well.
How did you get started cosplaying and what got you interested ?
I saw a bus add for Anime Expo 2006 and decided to attend. When I attended the first day I saw so many people cosplaying and thought it would be fun to try it out. So I ended up making my first cosplay the next day.
What are the con did you first attended and what’s your favorite con that you’ve attended so far and why ?
My first con that I attended was Anime Expo 2006 at the Anaheim Convention Center. My favorite con that I’ve attended so far would have to be Anime Expo because there are many events to go to, great guests, and a lot of cosplayers.
What does cosplay mean to you ?
Dressing up as your favorite characters and just have fun with other people that enjoy the same things as you do.
If you had unlimited funds/technology/time, what is your dream cosplay ?
Pretty much every cosplay since I’m a fan of them all, but if I to limit myself to a couple it would have to be the Gundam Strike Freedom and Cloud’s Fenrir Bike.
