I’ve been looking for other opportunities to test out different methods for making armor, so this project allowed me to do just that without getting in too far over my head. On the suggestion of a good friend, the armor is made by sandwiching craft foam between sheets of Wonderflex. The raised golden detailing is made out of Delight Paperclay, making the whole armor set very light. The armor is spraypainted with handpainted detailing, and the gems are cast out of resin , and the armor pieces are attached with straps of webbing, velvet, chiffon, and elastic.
The star-shaped necklace is sculpted out of Super Sculpey on a band of velvet stabilized with interfacing. The three earrings are beaded with glass lampworked beads and leverback earwires, so the longest, heaviest earring can clip into my wig rather than hang from my ear. The elastic shirt is made of white satin and green sheer chiffon, and the corset is made of deep green velvet with spiral-steel boning, white satin lining, and gold braided trim. The skirt is made of green dupioni silk and has godets and a rolled hem.
