(my new baby - ain't it purrrrrrty ! )
Many of y'all have followed me for some time now and you get what I do when I'm at a con. I usually post up a photo of a cosplayer live every hour so you will get between 10-15 images posted on Facebook over a course of a day. I usually shoot close to 150 shots on my phone, then upload it to my Flickr.
For the past two years I've pretty much followed the posting every hour rule until my phone dies but I realized that some of y'all may not be happy with a barrage of photos flooding your Facebook wall. I'm sure there's plenty who appreciate it but many who don't.
This weekend at Youmacon, I'm testing out a different way of getting images out there.
I'll be posting on my Facebook about once every 2 hours or so - for a total of 5-7 images a day. There will be links on the photo to direct you to my tumblr , twitter and (maybe) Flickr
Instagram is a new social media thing that I've been toying with for the last week so the best thing this app can do is that it can post to multiple social media sites. I'll probably be posting on spurts. Like maybe 5 photos within a 10 minute, then nothing for a hour, then more photos.
The plan is post less on Facebook yet post more on tumblr and twitter
(By the way, you can find me on Instagram. Look for CosplayAmerica - it is the same as my twitter - cosplayamerica )
I also got a new phone, Samsung Galaxy S3 and I'm retiring my HTC Evo 4G which if you remember, 2 years ago, replaced my iPhone 3. *sigh* Yup, I've played the field - Apple, HTC, Samsung. One of the main reasons I didn't go with the new HTC Evo 4G LTE is simply the fact you can't not change batteries. And at the con, my phone eats batteries. I used to carry 2 spare batteries with me just so I can last through a day of con - with the tweeting, Facebooking, credit card-swiping, picture taking that I do.
I am also bringing with me a disposable camera - I bought a pack of 10 off Ebay. They were wedding edition so they're in white with flowers and says wedding on it but hey, it is still a camera ! There's really no reason for me to use a disposable camera - I mean, it costs me more money to use it than my phone or camera but hey, I just wanna try it out.
By the way, those interested in getting a copy of the book Cosplay in America at the con should check this post.
