I gotta whole mess of social media and half the time it drives me crazy ! Today I'm gonna break down the ones I used the most so you can figure out what your preferences are.
So this is where I am most of the time. In fact I think I spend waaaaay too much time on Facebook. Seriously, I'm not sure why I'm not totally burnt out now ? Anyways, I post about 5 or 6 times a day unless I'm at a con, in that case, I tend to post every two hours or so.
I try to cover everything - comics, anime, video games, movies, cartoons, whatever though I will admit, it is geared a bit more towards anime than anything else. I try to run the page like how I did the book - you kinda see everything. You may see some amazing cosplays and you may see some beginners. And.....interesting enough, just because I post an attractive gal doesn't necessarily means it'll get tons of likes. Look, I was surprised too ! I've been doing this for two years and it really runs to gamut.
When I'm at a con, I'll be using my Instagram and I'll post select photos up with a link to my Instagram - you don't need Instagram to see the photos, it just goes to my Instagram page (which looks like a Facebook page - duh ! Owned by the same company, yo )
There'll also be videos and links to articles that I think would be relevant to the community.
Tumblr
Okay, tumblr moves faster. If you're on tumblr, you know what I mean. Your wall is like a stream of stuff... I kinda call tumblr the visual twitter.
This one gets updated 10+ times a day and I'll admit, I get lazy sometimes so it's not always on. The pictures you find here are 1) stuff I found online or 2) stuff I re-tumblr. Some of the same photos on my Facebook are also here but not all.
You also get my full instagram feed here. If I'm at a con, I'm probably uploading a ton of photos. They tend to go in spurts. A bunch at a time, then it's quiet. Oh, also depends on the internet at a con. Sometimes it is just crappy and I can't get a photo out.
There'll be videos, photos, links as well as quotes on this feed.
Twitter is probably the most comprehensive one. My Facebook feeds into it. My tumblr feeds into it and my Instagram feeds into it. Plus I get bored while waiting in line at the post office and I'll post random thoughts sometimes.
Maybe you should think of it as : Facebook + Tumblr + Instagram = Twitter !
The new kid on my block. I only started Instagram like 2 months ago ! This is probably the most limited one I got - mostly because I used it at cons for the most part. I don't want to show you what I have for lunch, or random photos of kitty cats (well...I have to have a cat first to do that....) or stuff like that. So mostly what you'll see is cosplay from the cons I'm at, landscapes from wherever I am. Maybe an interesting sign I saw on a door. That kinda of stuff.
At this point I'm not reposting photos I found online onto my Instagram but that might change in the future. I dunno. You don't exactly have to be on Instagram to see what photos I have up. Just go to instagram.com/cosplayamerica
YouTube
Actually, the only thing I used YouTube to do is to host and link back to it. I've been kinda lazy with it. My plan was to post new content every week but that is kinda difficult. So right now what you get on YouTube is my con videos as well as some longer interviews. Honestly, I should be better with YouTube but already juggling so much else *sigh*
